DramaWay is excited to announce that we are currently enrolling for our summer camp programs. DramaWay - Multi Arts Enrichment Camp is an innovative summer program offering individuals with special needs an eclectic exposure to varied means of creative expression. This summer camp is geared for both a younger and older age group. Depending on the number of campers, children are put into appropriate age groupings. We welcome children ages 7 to 12 as well as youth and adults over the age of 13 - 50. The integration of drama, film, dance and art as well as life skills activities will enrich campers as they embark on a fun-filled summer adventure!
DramaWay is excited to announce that our Multi Arts Enrichment Camp is offered in the East End as well as Downtown. Our East End camp is available as a full day program from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Campers now have the option of attending Option 1 which runs for the entire month of August, or they can simply attend for two weeks with Option 2 or 3.
Our Camp Day Program is being offered for Options 1&2 at our North York Location at St. Elizabeth of Hungary church located at 432 Sheppard Ave E. North York and Option 3 is located at our East End location - St. Dunstans Church located at 56 Lawson Road in Scarborough. Campers have the option of attending for Option 1, 2 or 3 which runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Option 2 is offered from August 2nd to August 13th, 2010. This session will primarily be dedicated to a focus on film/on-camera work. Option 3 is available from August 16th – August 27th, 2010 and will focus on Theatre Performance and life skills. As always, visual arts, dance and recreational activities will be incorporated throughout all sessions.

Option 4 is an extension of our year round evening program held at our usual Summerhill & Yonge Site located at 30 Birch Avenue. This program runs on Tuesday evenings for six weeks from 6:30 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. Dates: July 6, 13, 20, 27 and August 5 & 10, 2010. This camp allows for campers to miss 1 or 2 weeks if necessary with a fee adjustment. Please ask for details.
DramaWay camp programs offer campers the opportunity to participate in dynamic drama, film, dance, art workshops as well as life skills oriented activities. Plus each session allows campers to partake in exciting Special Adventure Events and Theme Days which will involve an interactive activity based on a fun theme/topic focusing on building a sense of community. Often the campers are given the chance to meet with guest specialists in the arts when available. During the day program campers may also enjoy several outings to the local park/stores if weather permits.
All locations are wheelchair accessible, and our downtown locations provide easy access to and from the TTC. The highlights of our evening program is that it is conveniently located at Community Living Toronto. Participants will enjoy exploring in an air-conditioned activity room with a very modern feel to it. Our new location at Bayview & Sheppard offers a spacious environment with a historical perspective. Scarborough location is situated only blocks away from a plaza as well as a beautiful scenic park providing the perfect setting for a small and intimate day camp like DramaWay’s. It is also a superb location as it provides access to an outdoor field for energetic recreational activities. Workshops take place in a large spacious air conditioned modern activity room which encourage mounds of creativity.
With a camper to staff ratio of 6:1, our programs are tailored to the individual strengths and abilities of each camper. Every aspect of our camp is designed to be process oriented and campers enjoy our non-competitive atmosphere. We make every effort to build communication skills and to further the development of social skills while also enhancing self-esteem.

Students will have fun exploring a wide range of active drama games and acting techniques. They will also receive an overview of the basic elements of theatre while also working towards an Open Class Presentation on the last day of camp.

Art
Participants will be engaged in an introductory experience to an assortment of hands-on visual art activities. They will have a blast creating and designing their own masterpieces.

Film
The participants will receive beginner filmmaking techniques. They will learn to act on film, use the equipment and create a DVD of their work as filmmakers at the end of the summer session!

• Story creation for the big screen
REGISTRATION
If you are interested in registering for either one of our summer programs, please complete our Summer Camp Registration form and Participant Release form. EXTENDED HOURS
If our scheduled drop-off and pick-up time prevents your child from attending our camp please let us know. We are extremely flexible, and we may be able to accommodate your request as long as our staff ratio permits.
HEADSHIP PROGRAM
If campers are interested they may also sign-up for our Headship program. This program involves a camper taking on a mentorship role while learning leadership skills. Campers will attend Session 2 of camp and serve as a mentor. The mentor will work under the supervision of the Camp Director. All mentors will learn to provide support to our younger campers as well as staff, while also developing his/her job skills. S/he will work alongside with the camper as s/he learns the ‘in’s and out’s’ of working in an arts oriented camp setting. Please call for further details if you are interested.
DRAMAWORKS ART GALLERY & DRAMATIC SHOWCASE
The last day of each session campers will proudly present pieces in the DramaWorks Art Gallery and Dramatic Showcase. This gives family and friends the opportunity to tour the location and view the unique pieces created by our campers throughout the session. It will also serve as a time for parents/guardians to get an inside look at our workshop process. A short presentation of our program highlights will be shown as a film clip or live as our Dramatic Showcase.
ALLERGIES
If your camper requires antihistamines at camp please leave them with the administrator at the beginning of the day. Due to severe food allergies, we ask you to refrain from sending peanut or nut products onto the camp location. Campers with severe allergies must bring antidote medication to camp. If your camper carries an EPIPEN please place it in a fanny pack that can be worn by him/her at all times.
MEDICATIONS
It is the policy of DramaWay that any and all medications that accompany a camper must be stored by the Camp Director/Administrator. All medication must be clearly marked with his/her name, the name of the medication, the dosage and time it is to be administered. Please give them to the staff on duty at the check-in table upon arriving each day. Please inform the Camp Director/Administrator if a medication requires refrigeration.
LUNCH AND REFRESHMENT PERIOD
Lunch breaks are not applicable for Session Four, yet a refreshment period will be offered. During Session One, Two & Three a lunch break will take place from approximately 12:15 P.M. – 1:15 P.M. Campers must bring their own lunch and AM snack. Due to the limited availability of refrigeration space, we ask that perishable food items be avoided in lunches . A refreshment period will occur in the afternoon. A healthy assortment of fresh fruit and tasty goodies will be provided daily. Water will be available to campers throughout the entire day. We remind you to help us to be fully aware of allergy alerts.

STAFF/VOLUNTEERS
DramaWay employs experienced staff and welcomes enthusiastic volunteers. Summer camp employees are chosen for their experience as Support Workers and/or Specialty Instructors in disciplines such as drama in education, film & theatre performance, dance choreography and art education. We also employ Respite/Support Workers.
