DramaWay’s Annual Performance Showcase 2025 spotlights
over 110 Performers of ALL Abilities!
DramaWay’s annual celebration of the exceptional artistic achievements of Greater Toronto’s special needs community will take place on Saturday, June 7th and Sunday, June 8th at the Papermill Theatre (67 Pottery Rd., Toronto).
SATURDAY, JUNE 7, 2025
On Saturday, June 7th, get ready for an unforgettable day of excitement and adventure at our biggest Theatre Showcase, featuring 4 live stage productions. Theatre groups, featuring actors from Mississauga, Downtown Toronto and Toronto’s East end will perform an original, theatrical production titled, “Rhythms & Rebels”.
This original script takes inspiration from a greasy musical high school set in the 1950’s and mashes it together with a musical trilogy set in a high school in the 2000’s. This piece was uniquely adapted to accommodate our exceptional performers of all abilities and includes loads of dancing and singing plus an incredible dance number finale!
So put on your poodle skirts, basketball jerseys, or black leather jackets and join us through an amazing mashup of wonderful memories!
SUNDAY, JUNE 8, 2025
On Sunday, June 8th, our Theatre West actors will take their turn performing, “Rhythms & Rebels”. Next, our Vocalists ask, “If you could turn back time, what music would you hear? Hits from the 80's or Y2K? The Vocal Program takes on the theme of time itself in a show stopping concert that includes crowd pleasing Pop, Country, and Broadway tunes in “Sing The Hits Baby One More Time!” This show will showcase our Vocalists like never before!
This vocal performance will then be followed by our Annual Dance Showcase, featuring 16 Dancers of all abilities. First, let’s hop on a plane and travel with our Dance Wednesday friends! This performance will take you on a journey where our buddies are always welcome, and dance styles are always fresh and fun! Finally, our Dance Thursday group presents, “Indepen-dance”. This show is a group exploration of personal themes like freedom, community, adulthood and responsibility. Join us as we share our point of view through movement & dance.
